With winter fast approaching, now is the time to be deciding what are going to be your must have coats and boots for this season, as they will be disappearing off the shelves before you know it.

I've had so many comments asking what my top tips for this season are, that I've decided to put together a little weekend shopping list of what you cannot afford to miss out on. These are all selling out fast and I can guarantee this coat will be selling for double the retail price on eBay before Christmas!

First off, my casual winter coat of the season is a modern take on the classic faux fur lined parker. It's been brought back to life by biker style sleeves and a modern, fitted cut.

Without a doubt, the cardigan of the season is following on in the footsteps of the parker coat. It's got a faux fur trim, contrasting midnight navy body, biker detail to the sleeves and a gorgeous gold zip design that will also tie in with the boots I have featured.

You can't possibly have to many pairs of skinny jeans but these have a little added twist to them. Newly launched by River Island, the 4 Way Stretch collection is a revolutionary new fabric blending technique that allows the jeans to not only keep their shape but to hold you in and sculpt you.

The last high street brand to do this was Next with their Lift and Shape collection. After wearing both, I would say that this new 4 Way Stretch has a more modern and flattering cut, it's like you're wearing the ultimate Spanx but without any effort.

Moving onto footwear, Alexander Wang brought back in the chunky heel and it's being felt all through the high street stores at the moment. Personally, I don't like the way Topshop have re-launched this style with such a 90's feel. I feel like it's going back to my teenage years, as against enhancing and putting a modern twist on a fashion gone by.

So, my recommendation for wearing a chunky heel and still having a 90's feel, without looking like you've pulled something out the wardrobe from days gone by, are these amazing zip detail leather boots.

They are very in keeping with Wang's current collection and also tie in perfectly with the cardigan and coat. Stylish, stunning and on trend without being backwards.

Moving briefly away from River Island, one of the most sought after high street brands for bags every year is Zara. They've not failed to amaze once again with their city bags collection and I just love this burgundy tote that will easily double as an office bag.

Real leather and with an adjustable, removable shoulder strap, this will be a classic staple piece that you will use for seasons to come. It channels both recent Prada and YSL cuts, making it really stand out but without the price tag.

No winter wardrobe would be complete without a Russian faux fur headband. This will look great with the cardigan and adds instant glamour and volume to long, flowing locks.

Ignore the classic advice that you can't wear dark fur with dark hair, YES YOU CAN! It adds even more glamour as your hair looks Bond girl huge and is a statement feature for any winter outfit.
