Review of Timeless Truth's Apple Collagen Bio Cellulose Mask

Last week, Angela at Beauty Masks very kindly sent me a lovely little parcel of Timeless Truth masks, as I had recently heard of them and was dying to try out the latest in mask technology!

The product I tried is Timeless Truth's Apple Collagen Bio Cellulose Mask.

The science on the back of the packet is..

"This bio cellulose mask is the ultimate in state of the art anti-ageing skincare. Bio Cellulose is a nano scoptic fibre that is highly compatible with the human body and can deeply penetrate through the inner layers of the skin whilst allowing the skin to breathe. Fitting the skin ‘like a glove’ the occlusion allows even coverage of the serum containing the highly active ingredients. Using Stem Cells extracted from Swiss Apple Uttuiler Spattauber the skin is nourished and stimulated. The apple Stem Cells act in a very similar way also to human skin cells, so, they help repair damaged tissue and help delay and reduce the visible signs of ageing."

Having never applied a 'skin' type mask before, I started off by reading the back of the packet and the instructions were very straight forward.

After cleansing my face, I opened the packet and was met by millions and billions of apple stem cells.. or at least this is how I liked to image it! Inside the packet, there was loads of serum, along with a neatly folded white mask.

It was a little messy taking the mask out the packet but I did immediately noticed how cool and soothing the serum felt on my hands.

The next step was to remove the protective material from both sides of the mask. One side is a thicker cloth type material and the other side more of a mesh.

Once these two sides are peeled off, the actual mask itself is revealed and it really did feel like skin!

I started applying the mask from the chin upwards, as recommended, then gently pulling it into shape to fit. The skin like texture moulds to your face almost instantly and is really easy to pull around so that you get the perfect fit.

I had particular areas I wanted to concentrate on, so I pulled the mask to the shape I wanted it to be and it moulded perfectly.

When you first apply it, you instantly feel a cool, soothing sensation on your skin. The serum feels like silk and right from the start, I was blown away by how much this is like a £90+ facial that I would usually get at a spa. This doesn't feel like an 'at home' facial at all.

So, with the mask applied and moulded like a second skin, I lay back, closed my eyes and definitely didn't think about all the things I have to do in my office later on. Okay, I did.

The mask however seems to be fitting more and more like skin as the minutes went on and I could feel it slightly warming to more of my body's own temperature.

After about 5-7 minutes, you can almost FEEL the serum nourishing your skin. Everything feels warm, relaxed, soft and soothed.

From thinking about work at the start of the facial to 10 minutes in, any thoughts of work were long gone and I was thoroughly caught up in enjoying this luxurious retreat that I was at. No way was this a facial done in the comfort of my own home, by me!

After 15 minutes, I started to gently massage the particular areas I wanted to focus on and the mask massages beautifully, it doesn't move and is as flexible as your own skin, so it was easy to focus on the areas around my mouth and cheeks, which I wanted plumping out a little.

I then let the mask rest for the remainder of the time and peeled it off after around 20 minutes. It comes off really easily and doesn't pull at your skin at all, which I was thrilled at because I hate any mask that stretches and pulls your skin, because I feel it really diminishes all the work spent lifting and tightening your face!

There was an even light coverage of serum left all over my face after removing the mask, so following the back of the packet, I gently massaged it in and then allowed it to dry.

After 2 or 3 minutes of drying time, I felt my skin and it was butter soft and smooth. Not only did my cheeks and skin look plumped and hydrated but the pores also looked much tighter. The best way I can describe my overall complexion after the mask was that it looked thoroughly invigorated.

So, all in all, I am absolutely thrilled with the results of my first mask and already can't wait to try the next one in a couple of days. I'm really interested to see the results of this mask after several weeks use and how the stem cells work.

It says on the packet that you are supposed to use additional products to lock in moisture after but because I have appointents later on, I decided not to do this and instead to apply my usual make-up.

I'm very happy to have discovered that you can indeed apply make-up straight after the serum has dried without cleansing or removing anything and IT MIXES PERFECTLY WITH MAKE-UP! There was no bitty foundation or reaction to anything, you wouldn't have known it wasn't freshly cleansed skin that it was being applied to.

So this is another huge bonus for me as it means I can still enjoy a morning facial before having to go straight into a busy day of business.

I've tried so many of the different masks on the market, as well as home facial kits, and this is by far the nearest to a professional salon or spa facial that I've ever had.

Well done, Timeless Truth, finally a mask that is deserving of an excellent review!
